Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 bags Black tea bags Use a robust brand like Twinings or English Breakfast for a rich flavor.
  • ¾ cup Water Filtered water recommended for clarity of taste.
  • 1 cup Milk Whole milk adds creaminess; can substitute with almond, oat, or soy milk.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Always opt for pure vanilla extract for best flavor.

Spices

  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Ginger Fresh is ideal if available.
  • ½ teaspoon Cardamom
  • ¼ teaspoon Cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg A small sprinkle can also work wonders.

Sweetener

  • Brown sugar or honey Add to taste.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a saucepan, combine ¾ cup of water, the two black tea bags, and all your spices. Bring to a rolling boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • After simmering, turn off the heat and remove the tea bags. Allow the mixture to steep gently for an additional 5 minutes.
  • In another saucepan, heat your 1 cup of milk over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent it from scalding.
  • Froth the milk using a frother or a whisk until it's light and foamy.
  • Strain the spiced tea mixture into your favorite mug, stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and your preferred sweetener, then top with frothed milk.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.

Notes

It’s best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat and froth the milk before serving. To adjust flavor, add extra spices as needed.
