Ingredients

Classic Base Ingredients

  • 2 boxes Vanilla Wafers Opt for a high-quality brand, such as Nabisco.
  • 6 to 8 pieces Bananas, sliced Choose ripe but not overripe bananas.
  • 2 cups Milk Whole milk is preferred, but almond or soy available.
  • 1 container Strawberries Fresh strawberries preferred.
  • 1 5 oz. box French Vanilla pudding This ingredient gives the dessert its creaminess.
  • 1 8 oz. package Cream Cheese (at room temperature) Makes the pudding velvety.
  • 1 14 oz. can Sweetened Condensed Milk Adds sweetness and creaminess.
  • 1 12 oz. container Whipped Topping Look for a brand without artificial ingredients.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk until perfectly smooth—about 2-3 minutes with a hand mixer.
  • Add the French Vanilla pudding and the 2 cups of milk to the mixture. Stir until completely blended—around 2 minutes should do!

Layering

  • In a large serving dish, start with a layer of vanilla wafers, followed by a layer of sliced bananas and strawberries.
  • Pour half of the pudding mixture over the fruit and wafers and spread it gently with a spatula.
  • Repeat the layers with another round of wafers, bananas, and strawberries, and then pour the remaining pudding mix over the top.
  • Spread whipped topping over the final pudding layer and cover the dish with plastic wrap.

Chilling

  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

Notes

Keep the dessert covered while chilling to prevent it from absorbing odors. It can be made a day in advance, but add whipped topping closer to serving.
