Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats Use certified gluten-free oats if needed.
  • 1 cup peanut butter Use creamy peanut butter for smoothness or crunchy for added texture.
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup Local honey is great for flavor.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips recommended.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract elevates flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness and enhances nutty flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix the rolled oats, peanut butter, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  • Spread the mixture evenly on the lined baking sheet and flatten it with a spatula.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even browning.
  • Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet.
  • Once cooled, gently stir in the chocolate chips.

Storage

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
  • Great with yogurt, fruit, or milk.

Notes

Stir carefully to avoid breaking clusters and keep an eye to prevent overbaking. Letting granola cool completely helps achieve maximum crunchiness.
