For the Pork Chops

  • 4 pieces thick pork chops (preferably bone-in for more flavor) Choose thicker cuts (at least 1-inch thick) to ensure juiciness.
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup Look for 100% pure maple syrup for the best depth of flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard Stone-ground mustard can be used for a prettier texture.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic is a must!
  • to taste Salt and pepper Don’t skimp on seasoning.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Extra virgin works beautifully.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Season the pork chops generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, add the pork chops and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they develop a golden brown crust.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic.

Cooking

  • Place the seared pork chops in a baking dish and pour the glaze evenly over them.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the pork reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Serve warm with extra glaze drizzled on top.

Notes

Expert Tips: Let pork chops rest for about 5 minutes after cooking for tenderness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
