Ingredients
  

For the Cookies

  • 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour Make sure it's fresh and sifted for the best texture.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda For rising and fluffiness.

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature Use high-quality butter for the best flavor.

  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup The star ingredient—choose grade A for flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract For that extra maple kick.

For the Glaze

  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar For sweetness in the glaze.
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup Adds flavor and moisture to the glaze.
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted Helps bind the glaze together.
  • 1/4 teaspoon maple extract To amp up the maple flavor.
  • 1 pinch kosher salt Balances the sweetness of the glaze.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and kosher salt until well combined.
  • In your stand mixer, combine the room temperature butter and packed light brown sugar on medium speed until smooth and creamy.
  • Add in the egg, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and maple extract. Mix on low speed until well combined.
  • Gradually add your flour mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  • Scoop out portions of dough using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, roll them into balls, and place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving enough space between each one.
  • Bake for 8-9 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Glazing

  • In a small bowl, whisk together confectioners’ sugar, maple syrup, melted butter, maple extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  • Once the cookies are completely cool, drizzle the glaze over them using a spoon or piping bag for presentation.

Notes

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to one week or refrigerate to prolong freshness. You can prepare the dough in advance and freeze it.
