  • 2 tbsp honey Preferably local to impart unique flavors.
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard Smooth for easy mixing.
  • 1 tbsp low sodium soy sauce or coconut aminos for a gluten-free alternative.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil Extra virgin adds rich flavor.
  • 1 tsp paprika Choose regular, smoked, or hot depending on your spice preference.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Preparation

  • Preheat your broiler: Set the broiler to high and position a rack about 6 inches from the heat source. Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.
  • Mix your sauce: In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, honey, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, and olive oil. Stir well until smooth.
  • Prepare chicken and asparagus: Place the chicken cutlets and asparagus on the lined baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Spice it up: Sprinkle paprika generously over the chicken.
  • Add the glaze: Spoon the honey-garlic mixture over the chicken and asparagus.
  • Cook: Broil for 6-8 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and is browned.

Notes

Make-ahead by prepping the honey garlic mixture a day in advance. Store in the fridge and marinate the chicken the next day. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
