Ingredients
  

  • 1 Pound fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven: Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    Prepare asparagus: Wash and dry the asparagus. Trim the woody ends (about 1-2 inches from the bottom).
    Season: In a large bowl, toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and lemon zest until evenly coated.
    Roast: Spread the asparagus in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and tender.
    Optional finishing touch: Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese during the last 2 minutes of roasting.
    Serve: Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy hot.

Notes

  • Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • For extra crunch, add breadcrumbs before roasting.
  • Ensure asparagus spears are similar in size for even cooking.
