Ingredients

For the Marinade

  • 0.5 cup Soy Sauce Use low-sodium to control salt levels.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Grated Ginger Or use 1 teaspoon ground ginger.
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Can substitute with brown sugar.
  • 2 teaspoons Sesame Oil Use toasted sesame oil for richness.

For the Chicken

  • 1.5 pounds Boneless Chicken Thighs Thighs keep the meat juicy; can substitute with breasts.
  • to taste none Salt For seasoning.
  • to taste none Pepper For seasoning.
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Green Onions For garnish; adds color and crunch.

Instructions

Marination

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, ginger, garlic, honey, and sesame oil. Whisk until well blended. Add chicken thighs, coating them in the marinade. Let them soak in the fridge for at least 30 minutes (up to 4 hours for maximum flavor).

Cooking

  • Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Place the chicken on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and is caramelized.
  • Transfer chicken to a serving platter and sprinkle with green onions before serving.

Notes

For an intense flavor, marinate overnight. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
