  • 2 pieces carrots, sliced Adds natural sweetness and color.
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped For freshness and crunch.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place the ham bone in the crock pot, ensuring it's at the center for even cooking.
  • Rinse and soak the dried beans overnight, then add them to the crock pot.
  • Add the chopped onion, carrots, celery, and minced garlic.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and add thyme, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the beans are tender.
  • Remove the ham bone, shred the meat, and return it to the soup.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For maximum flavor, consider browning the ham bone before adding it to the slow cooker. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days or freeze for up to three months.
