Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces thick-cut pork chops (bone-in or boneless) Choose bone-in for more flavor.
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced Mince fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Use high-quality cream for richness.
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth Choose low-sodium to control saltiness.
  • to taste Salt Use kosher salt for seasoning.
  • to taste freshly cracked black pepper Add freshly ground pepper for best results.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and measure them in advance.
  • Let pork chops sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

Cooking

  • Season both sides of each pork chop with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, sear the pork chops for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Set aside on a plate.
  • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add more oil if necessary. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low, stir in the heavy cream, and simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
  • Return the seared pork chops to the skillet and simmer for an additional 5 minutes until cooked through, with an internal temperature reaching 145°F (63°C).
  • Plate your pork chops and drizzle the creamy sauce on top.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; sauce can be frozen separately from pork chops. You can also prepare the sauce in advance and reheat it.
