Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract and cotton candy flavoring until combined.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients and milk, mixing until smooth and just combined.
  • If desired, add food coloring to achieve your desired pastel or vibrant shade.

Baking

  • Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full and bake for 18-20 minutes.
  • Let the cupcakes cool in the tin for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
