Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature Make sure it's softened to ensure a smooth blend.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar This will balance the tanginess of the cream cheese.
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling Using homemade cherry filling can elevate the flavor!
  • 1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping, thawed For that airy texture, be sure it’s thawed beforehand.
  • 1 bag (10 ounces) mini marshmallows These add a fun chewiness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Allow your cream cheese to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before you start.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar. Using a hand mixer, beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until creamy and smooth.
  • Gently fold in the cherry pie filling with a spatula, being careful not to overmix.
  • Carefully fold in the whipped topping until well combined but still light and airy.
  • Fold in the mini marshmallows until evenly distributed.
  • Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to mingle and the fluff to set.

Notes

For a creamier texture, blend the whipped topping with the cream cheese mixture instead of folding it in. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Make ahead a day in advance, but save marshmallows for the day of serving.
