For the Glaze

  • 1 cup 1 cup confectioners' sugar For the finishing glaze

Instructions

Preparation

  • Thaw the Rhodes rolls by placing them on a greased baking sheet. Cover with greased plastic wrap and thaw using one of two methods: Countertop Thaw (about 4 hours) or Overnight Thaw (best results!).
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a clean baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Once the rolls are thawed, flatten each roll to about 3 inches wide, add 1 tablespoon of apple pie filling in the center, then wrap the dough around the filling to seal it into a ball.

Baking

  • Place the sealed dough balls in a circular pattern on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and mix until combined, resembling a crumbly texture.
  • Generously sprinkle the streusel topping over the dough balls and bake in the preheated oven for 30-34 minutes until golden brown.

Finishing Touches

  • Once baked, allow to cool slightly. Whisk together the confectioners’ sugar and milk until smooth to form a glaze.
  • Pour the glaze over the slightly warm Apple Pie Bomb Wreath and let it cool a bit before serving.

Notes

Don’t overfill the rolls to prevent them from bursting. Ensure your butter is melted but not hot, and let the dough rest before rolling for best results. Leftovers can be stored at room temperature for 2 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
