- 1 loaf challah bread, sliced 1-inch thick
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk or half-and-half
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp butter for cooking
- Maple syrup, powdered sugar, and fresh berries for serving
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of butter, allowing it to melt and coat the surface.
Dip each slice of challah into the egg mixture, letting it soak for about 10-15 seconds on each side.
Place soaked challah slices on the skillet and cook until golden brown, approximately 3-4 minutes per side.
Transfer to a plate, garnish with powdered sugar, berries, or syrup as desired, and serve warm.
- For a dairy-free option, substitute the milk with almond or oat milk.
- Adjust sweetness by increasing or decreasing sugar to taste.
